Planet Relations is a public relations consultancy founded to help small- to mid-sized companies, whose missions support community and environmental goals, use the power of public relations to connect with their stakeholders. We take a hands-on approach to PR and like to be actively involved in the ongoing strategy and positioning of a company and its products.
Prior to forming Planet Relations, founder Jeff Stephens was director of communications for an independent, third party certification firm that verified environmental and green building claims. While there, he oversaw their public relations, stakeholder engagement, and branding programs. Jeff’s other diverse professional experience includes working as a pr writer for Gallagher Public Relations (now split into Gallagher Group Communications and Engage Public Relations), a marketing communications specialist for Enron Energy Services (yes, that Enron!), and as a project manager for Dames & Moore (since acquired by URS Corp), an international environmental consulting firm. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in natural resources management from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and a certificate in Integrated Marketing Communications from UC Berkeley.
